Marvin Elwood Brown, departed this life on Friday, November 22, 2024 at his residence. He was born on April 5, 1954 in Wytheville, Va., a son of the late Matthew F. and Phyllis M. Brown. He was preceded in death by five of his brother's Franklin, Tony, Lewis, Terry, and Carl Brown.

Marvin attended Scott Memorial School in Wytheville, Va., Speedwell Elementary School, Rural Retreat High School in Wythe County VA. Marvin learned several trades in Carpentry and Horticulture. Most of Marvin's work was with the Wythe USA Pendleton Construction, the American Screw Company, and farming on the Spraker Farm for a number of years. Due to his health and injuries, he became disabled to work in his later years.

Marvin was a loving and caring son, a beloved brother, uncle, great uncle, nephew, friend of Wytheville, Va. He was most passionate about listening to music, supporting and attending Church activities and events. He became an honorary member of the Church. Marvin provided his residence to people that were in need of temporary shelter. He never complained about sharing his water source within the community. He will be sadly missed by our community.

Marvin is survived by two sisters Janet Peoples and Nancy Rush. Also surviving are five brothers; Jerry, Larry, Kenneth, Lionell, and Pastor Charles and Armae Brown. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, an Aunt and Uncle, and several close friends and others.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Hope Church Cemetery with Pastor Charles H. Brown officiating.
