Mary Lee "Nancy" Ayers, age 81, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Monday, May 15, 2023. She was born May 23, 1941 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Edgar Franklin Ayers, Sr. and Lessie Inez Viars Ayers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Elizabeth Ayers Viars and Francis Lea Ayers; a brother, Garnett Edward (John) Ayers and two nephews, Eddie Ayers, III and Duane Ayers.

Survivors include three brothers, Carl E. Ayers (Shirley) of Wytheville, VA, Ed F. Ayers, Jr. (Libby) of Max Meadows and Gary M. Ayers (Nita) of Max Meadows; nieces and nephews, Sherry Viars, Donna Hall, Sandy Jones, Karen Silva and Jeff Ayers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Reverend N.R. Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon, prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
