Mary Ellen Baker, 92 of Rocky Gap, Virginia passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, VA.

Born April 16, 1930 in Tazewell, VA she was a daughter of the late Charles Thomas Hampton and Dorothy Beatrice Hoops Hampton.

Mary enjoyed gardening and raising flowers, especially the four o'clock that grew along her fence, the climbing roses at her front door and flowers in hanging baskets along the patio. She enjoyed having cook outs with family and friends and going to flea markets. She raised 7 children and worked as a seamstress at Roanoke Fashions Tultex, in Bastian, VA where she retired. She attended the Rocky Gap Pentecostal Holiness Community Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a step-father, Alton Nelson; two husbands, Early Eugene Puckett and James Crocket (JC) Baker; three sons, Danny Lee Puckett, Ronnie Wayne Puckett and Donnie Eugene Puckett and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Charles K. Puckett and wife Elizabeth of Texas; three daughters, Delores Darlene Mack's and husband Earl of Texas, Carolyn Ann Evans and Rita Gaye Puckett of Bluefield, VA; two sisters, Barbara Belcher and husband Jerry and Joanne Moore of Bluefield, West VA.  She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday, October 17, 2022, at Highland Funeral Home of Bland, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm with Pastor Leroy Long officiating. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends

Interment to follow in Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA.
