Mary Irene Blevins Porter, age 92, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Friday, January 23, 2026. She was born August 28, 1933 in Smyth County, daughter of the late Matthew and Lannie Huffman Blevins. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Joseph B. Porter.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Frazier, Wanda Dunford Lewis, Edna and Robert Frazier, Evelyn and Clint Pratt; three sons and daughters-in-law, William "Bill" Porter, Joseph B. "J.B." and Brenda Porter, John and B.J. Porter; one sister, Betty Blevins; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Pastor Josh Graham and Pastor Bob Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery will be private.
