Matthew Shawn Cook, age 37, of Barren Springs, VA passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2023. He was born March 5, 1986 and was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Jessie Cook; brother, Luke Esley Cook; maternal grandparents, Walter Edward Farmer and Irene Hicks; paternal grandparents, Marvin K. Cook and Daisy Annaleigh Cook.

Survivors include his mother, Brendalea Farmer and two sons, Shawn Matthew Cook and Austin Cook.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Barren Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Dale Akers officiating.
