Mattie Claudine Harden Montgomery, age 84, of Wytheville, VA passed away Monday, February 20, 2017. She was born April 6, 1932 in Wythe County, daughter of the late William Rufus Harden and Roberta Jane Irvin Harden and was preceded in death by her husband, William Edgar Montgomery; two sisters, Nellie Sharitz and Aileen Crigger and an infant brother, William Moore Harden.  She is survived by two daughters, Donna Maxine Wright of Wytheville, VA, Noellen Gail and Wayne Miles of Wytheville, VA; grandchildren, James Scott Wright and fiancée Katie Liddle of Dublin, VA, Deana Gail and Timmy Hall of Wytheville, VA; great grandchild, Dustin Michael Vanover; step granddaughter, Kodie Miles; three sisters, Ida Williams of Apsion, TN, Hope Walters of Wytheville, VA and Velva Joan Harden of Wytheville, VA; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Barnett Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
