Mildred Lucille Alexander, 89, a longtime resident of Rural Retreat, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 22, 2022 in Cumming, GA. She was born in Groseclose, VA on April 22, 1933 to the late Ernest Dewey Vipperman and Birdie Ellen Burkett Vipperman and graduated from Sugar Grove High School. Mildred was a member of the Groseclose First Church of God and was retired from Harwood Manufacturing Company in Marion. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Randolph Alexander, Sr.; her brothers: James Vipperman, Ernest Vipperman, Eugene Vipperman, Melvin Vipperman, and Claude Vipperman; and her sisters: Josie Powell and Dorothy Lineberry.
Mildred is survived by her son, the Rev. Joseph Randolph Alexander, Jr. and wife the Rev. Patricia Phaneuf Alexander of Alexandria, VA; her daughter, Deborah Ruth Lengsavath and husband Paul Phonepraseuth Lengsavath of Suwanee, GA; her grandsons: William Stirling Alexander, Peter Roberts Alexander, Andrew Marshall Alexander, and Jaden Matthew Lengsavath; her brother, Jack Vipperman and wife Gail Vipperman of Rural Retreat; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Groseclose First Church of God with Pastor William Wagner officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Lindsey Funeral Home.
