Nancy Louise Morgan, of Bastian, VA, passed away on December 15th, 2025 at the age of 86.
Nancy is survived by her children, Mark Morgan and wife Reba; Jack R. Morgan and wife Lora; Grandchildren, Josh Morgan, Misty (Morgan) Palmer and husband Jason, Keagan Morgan and wife Anna, and Jayla (Morgan) Kennedy and husband Samual; great-granddaughter Morgan Palmer; sister Jeanie Cantrell, and brother Jake Parks and wife Bobby.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Bill and Elouise Parks, sister Anna Bishop and brothers John Parks and Charles Parks.
Nancy was born in Davy WV on July 13th 1939. As a young girl, she helped raise her younger siblings after the tragic death of her father in a mining accident. She owned several businesses in McDowell County and was a beautician in Welch WV for many years. Nancy worked in the Wyoming County School system at multiple schools later in her career. She, along with her beloved husband, Jack worked in numerous churches throughout WV. After moving to Bland County Virginia in 2004, she served in various roles in churches in Wythe and Bland counties. She was a member of Bastian Church of God in Bastian VA.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved and will be missed by all. Nancy traveled America with her loving husband, running, backpacking, mountain biking, and riding motorcycles. Her and Jack backpacked most major and many minor trails in America including the Appalachian Trial, Long Trail, Centennial Trail, John Muir Trail, Colorado Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and many others. She spent the last several years at home in Bastian caring for Jack.
She will be deeply missed by her family and community but they all are comforted by the fact she is now with her precious savior and reunited with the love of her life, Jack. They were together for over 68 years and were only separated by death for 50 days and are now together forever.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 27th, at the Bland Funeral Chapel, 530 Main St Bland VA. Family will receive visitors from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. with the service following. Jack R. Morgan will officiate. Flowers may be offered at the Chapel. The family asks for donations to be made to your church of choice in her name.
