Nancy Ruth Russell Tarter, age 92, of Crockett, Va. passed away Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born in Clintwood, Va. on August 29, 1933 to the late Earl Russell and Virginia Waterson Russell.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Sheffey Tarter Sr..

She is survived by her children Ruby and Strader Blankenship, Bill and Kim Tarter, Kathy and Reggie Duncan; grandchildren Lee and Beth Blankenship, Brandon and Hannah Tarter, Stevie and Kelly Ann Long, Jodie and Nathan Baucom; and nine great grandchildren.

Private services will be held by the family.
