Nancy Moore Wilson

Nancy Moore Wilson, age 85, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Friday, October 16, 2026. She was born March 28, 1941 in Max Meadows, daughter of the late James Robert and Dessie Jane Peak Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Edward Scott; two brothers, Ed Smith and Charlie Moore; and a sister, Maxine Waller.

Nancy was very active and loved being around her family and friends. She enjoyed attending church services and community activities such as singing and dancing, never meeting a stranger. What time she wasn’t spending time enjoying her grandkids, she loved to curl up with a good book and read.

Nancy is survived by two sons, Kenneth B. Scott and wife Terena Scott, and Nathan Andew Wilson; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Austin and husband Charles; two sisters, Juanita Stroupe and Matilda Astin; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Many special nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2026 at Locust Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed Blair officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will follow in the Huddle Cemetery.
