Nellie Frances Stone Sutphin, age 83, of Dublin, VA passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022. She was born November 30, 1938 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Cloyd and Lessie Alley Dean. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Roy C. Stone; brother Charles Dean; sisters Betty Sue Sonner and Ruth Ann Dean; son-in-law John Edwards.

Nellie was a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ at Valley Road, Pulaski, VA.

Survivors include her son, Wayne and Alisha Stone of Christiansburg, VA; three daughters, Patsy Edwards, Rosa and Ricky Freeman all of Pulaski, Cinda Reynolds and fiancé James Lawson of Galax, VA; two sisters, Willie Sonner of Pulaski and Elsie Mae Quesenberry of Draper, VA; two brothers, Reverend Andrew and Roberta Dean of Austinville, VA and Reverend Billy and Janice Dean of Wytheville. 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Reese Funeral Home with the Reverend Mary Morris and Reverend Richard Wall officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour before service time.

Burial will follow the service at Bethany UMC Cemetery in Poplar Camp, VA.
