Norman Wesley Fortner, age 88 of Max Meadows, VA a retired minister, has passed on to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 29, 2017.  He was born in Johnson City, TN on April 4, 1929 the son of the late Edward Hugh Fortner and Virgie Hall Fortner.  He was a retired Pentecostal minister and was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline F. Fortner.

He is survived by his children and spouses, Kent Fortner and Mary of Suffolk, VA, Brent Fortner and Tammy of Chesterfield, VA, Lee Fortner of Max Meadows, VA; grandchildren, Brian, Caroline, John, Leann, Amanda, Jeremy, Brittany, Corey, Meagan; great-grandchildren, Blake, Bryson, Brianna, Maura, Cole, Cambria and a great-great-grandchild, Alec.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the Barnett Funeral Home followed by a brief service and private interment.  The family request that those who prefer may make memorials to the Lead Mines Rescue Squad, 1057 Fort Chiswell Road, Max Meadows, VA  24360.
