Norman "Poko" Leo Goodson, Jr., age 70, of Ivanhoe, VA passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024. He was born July 4, 1953 in Wythe County, son of the late Norman Leo Goodson, Sr. and Sandra Childress Goodson. He was also preceded in death by his hunting buddy, Mick Lephew.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah "Jane" Pickett Goodson of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Selinda and Jason "Skillet" Gregory of Ivanhoe, Brandi and Mark Bass of Wytheville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and T.J. Widner of Ivanhoe, Steve Widner of Dublin, Jason and Ashley Goodson of Ivanhoe; five granddaughters, Jessica, Aimee, Aerianna, Addisyn and Kayla; five great-grandchildren. Many extended family and close friends also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Reese Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Ingo officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to his son, Donnie Widner to assist with expenses toward his kidney transplant operation. Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, VA is serving the family.
