Paul Dewey Mathews, age 86, of Ivanhoe, VA passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022. He was born July 13, 1935 in Tazewell, VA, the son of the late John and Maggie Doughton Mathews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Mullins Mathews; his son, Paul W. Mathews and several brothers and sisters. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of United in Christ Church in Austinville.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Tony Stafford of Mt. Lookout, WV and Melessa and Gary McClain of Ivanhoe; his sister, Ella Mae McDonald of Commerce, GA; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Reese Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will follow the service at West End Cemetery.
