Phyllis Akers Kirby, age 85, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022. She was born June 15, 1936 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Arthur and Clara Jones Akers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Kirby; son, Roger Kirby; two brothers, William Akers and Fred Akers. Phyllis was a member of Gravely Memorial Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Maxine Kirby and Zanna Kirby of the home; daughter-in-law, Debra "Suzy" Kirby of Max Meadows; four grandchildren, Christy, Todd, John and Stephanie; nine great-grandchildren, David, Savanna, Cameron, Austin, Chandler, Alyssa, Ayden, Aaron and Alexa; one sister, Barbara Morrison of Staunton, VA; sister-in-law, Sibbie Akers. Several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends also survive.

There will be no services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
