Ramona Payne
Corvin
September 22, 1969 – September 5, 2024
Ramona Starr Payne-Corvin, 54, of Max Meadows, VA, formerly of Iaeger, WV, entered eternal life at her home on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Ramona was born in Welch, West Virginia to Chester W. Payne, Sr. and A. Christine (Muncy) Payne. She later moved to Columbus, Georgia, where she started her family. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved being a "Nana" more than anything in this world. She loved animals, especially her dog "Smoke", loved listening to all genres of music, and working outside in her yard. Above all, she was a devoted Mommy for many years to her two daughters. Ramona is best remembered by her big heart and how she loved everyone. Ramona is "unforgettable" and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Corvin, and by the father of her children, Danny Adams. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Danielle Adams, of Atlanta, GA and Jessica (Travis) Cregger, of Max Meadows, VA. Her mom and her grandchildren, Braxton Cregger and Aubrie Cregger. One brother, Chester W. Payne Jr. of Max Meadows, VA; one sister, Katrina Payne-Phillips of Wytheville, VA. One nephew, three nieces. Nine great-nephews, and three great-nieces.
There will be a memorial service held for Ramona on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Wytheville First Church of God, 1135 Cove Road, Wytheville, VA with Pastor Donn Sunshine officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2PM – 4PM before the service.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Barnett Funeral Home of Wytheville, VA (276) 228-3121 for their services during our loss.
Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength.
Our "Starr" will be watching over us, as we continue our journey here.
