Obituary

Our Beloved Randolph Noah Campbell Jr. departed us from his residence on January 18, 2026, in Wytheville, Virginia. Randolph, better known as Randy, is the son of the late Randolph Noah Campbell Sr. and Frances Virginia Chappelle Campbell of Chilhowie, Virginia. He is also the late grandson of Pastor James Campbell of Chilhowie, Virginia.

Randolph lived an immensely full and rewarding life. He loved to fish, detail his car, take spontaneous weekend road trips, do yardwork, play cards, and watch television. Some of his favorite shows to watch included "The Price is Right, "Let's Make a Deal" and "Family Feud". Shiny, nice-looking cars were something Randy was quite fond of. In fact, in his early twenties, he had a 1956 Chevy convertible that he adored. Randy always would love to share stories from his past, especially those including his precious wife, Esther. He had a great and deep reverence for God and was especially fond of Reverend Billy Graham and Reverend Jeremiah. Randy was baptized at a Baptist Church in Abingdon and then went on to attend Chilhowie Baptist Church as a young boy. He attended both Virginia State University and Virginia Union University to obtain his 2-year degree. Randy served as deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Wytheville for many years. In his later years, Randolph enjoyed his days with the love of his life, Esther, conversations with his family, listening to music and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Randy leaves behind Esther, his devoted loving wife, of sixty-one years. Randolph also leaves behind his loving and devoted brother, James Edward "Eddy" Campbell (Linda) of Aventura, Florida. In addition, he leaves behind his four children: Esther Bird (Rick), Bridgot Harmon (Scott), Randolph Campbell (Angel), and Charles Campbell (Kelli); six grandchildren: Josh Campbell, Richie Bird, Felicia Graves (Amil), Deo Campbell (Sonja), Courtney Windhom (Mitchell), and Caleb Campbell, and seven great-grandchildren. There are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, former co-workers, and friends who will forever cherish the memory of what an exemplary husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and man Randolph was to all of those who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Barnett Funeral Home with Pastor Shelley Kyle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until service time. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery.

Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Campbell family.
