Rayford Kilgore, age 84, of Bastian, VA went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He was born February 22, 1933 in West Dante, VA, the son of the late Green and Dona Holbrook Kilgore. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Pauline J. Franks Kilgore; daughter, Virginia Kilgore; son, Harold Kilgore; brother, Lonnie Kilgore; three sisters, Rachel Williams, Dorothy Williams and Mozella Phillips. Rayford was a member of Green Valley Community Church. He is survived by three loving daughters, Glenda Scott and husband Danny of Bastian, Nancy Linkous and husband Danny of Bastian, Sharon Reed and husband Danny of Bluefield; grandchildren, Angela Bibey, Melissa Cantrell, Amy Muncy, Leeann Taylor, Daniel Linkous, Jr., Michael Reed, Cherish Holley; twelve great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Venus Franks of Maryland; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Skip Riley, Adrian Mostol, John Blessing and a host of other friends.

Family and friends will be honoring Rayford's life Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Green Valley Community Church on Grapefield Road, Bastian, VA at 11:00 a.m. and funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon with the Reverend John Blessing officiating. Interment will follow in the Kilgore Family Cemetery. Pallbearers include Kamran Cantrell, Mike Reed, Danny Linkous, Zachary Muncy, Trey Taylor, Adrian Mostol, Eddie Taylor, Steve LaRue and Skip Riley. Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland, VA is serving the Kilgore family.
