Kay
January 3, 1964 – October 22, 2025
Regina Annette Kay (née Carter), 61, passed away in her Louisa home Wednesday, October 22, 2025. She lived a life driven by her love of family. In recent years, she spent her free time with her grandchildren and serving as a greeter for her local church. Her family and
friends mourn her loss but rejoice in her joining her father and sister, praising the Lord forevermore.
Gina was born January 3, 1964 in Warrenton, Fauquier County, Virginia to Roger Lee Carter and Cleita Thomas Carter. She grew up in the Manassas area and later moved to Spotsylvania. Gina was the third child of seven. After her teen years, Gina worked a variety of jobs. At a bakery she met her husband, David Lee Kay Sr. They married September 26, 1992. Their family grew with the births of their sons David Lee Kay Jr (1993) and Andrew Allen Kay (1994). They lived in Spotsylvania until 2005 where she met her best friend, Amy. They moved to Louisa where they were able to build their dream home together. After her retirement in November 2019, Gina stayed busy helping watch her grandchildren. In Fall 2022, Gina and David joined Jefferson Park Baptist Church where she later found sweet friendships and teaching that she would later treasure until her passing.
Gina is preceded in death by her father, Roger Carter and sister, Donna Carter. She is survived by her mother, Cleita Carter, siblings Patty Carter, Gregory Carter, Robin Kelley, Lisa Thomas, and Roger Carter, husband, David Kay Sr., sons, David Kay Jr. and Andrew Kay, and
