Richard Lee "Tish" Eversole, age 94, of Wytheville, VA passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023. He was born May 26, 1928 in Pulaski, VA, the son of the late Robert Taylor Eversole and Bertha Elma Jonas Eversole. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mae Thomas Eversole; two sisters, Helen Etter and Alberta Arnold; a brother, J.D. Eversole.
"Tish" was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War.
Survivors include three daughters, Lora and Leo Grubb of Speedwell, Tammy and Jacky Scott, Teresa and Maxie Aker all of Wytheville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brittney and Brad Litton, Nathan and April Aker, Jerry and Michelle Fisher; 6 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Litton, Benson Litton, Abby Aker, Nixon Aker, Aurelia Aker and Kristen Cox; one great-great-granddaughter, Ellie Michelle Cox; two sisters, Patsy Saferight of Wytheville and Margie Folden of Pulaski; brother-in-law, Don Arnold of Dublin, VA. Several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Barnett Funeral Home with Eddie Fry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time.
Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 14 in the West End Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #9.
Although flowers will be appreciated, the family suggests those who prefer may make memorial donations to a charity of choice.
