Robert “Bobby” Preston Garwood, age 81, of Draper, VA passed away Friday, July 3, 2026. He was born February 15, 1945 in Wilmington, Delaware, son of the late Omar Elkin Garwood and Ernestine Rice Garwood. Preceded in death was his parents; his wife, Nancy Viars Garwood; a sister, Dorothy Covey and two brothers, Wayne Garwood and David Garwood.

Bobby was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Crystal Garwood of Barren Springs; two grandsons, Jacob Garwood and Stephen Garwood; a special niece, Tammy and Michael King of Barren Springs. Several nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2026 at Peak Creek Mission Church, Pulaski, VA with Pastor Charles McPeak and Reverend Dale Akers officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Reese Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.  Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, VA is serving the Garwood family.
