Robie Catherine Dickens Shannon, 96, of Ivanhoe, Virginia, passed away on July 8, 2017 in Williamsburg, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on July 20, 2017 in Odd Fellow Cemetery, Ivanhoe, Virginia with the Reverend Rocky Dalton officiating.

Robie was born in Cripple Creek, Virginia to Charles and Susan Dickens on April 3, 1921. She married Otis E. Shannon on January 22, 1944 in Walker County, Georgia.

Robie is preceded in death by her husband, Otis and her son, Eddie.

She is survived by her son George and daughter-in-law Dorothea of Williamsburg, Virginia; brother Fred Dickens of Albuquerque, New Mexico; granddaughters Denise Shannon of Bellville, Texas and Diane Shannon of Jacksonville, Florida and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, Ivanhoe, Virginia or a charity of your choice.
