Roger Lee Carter, age 74, of Max Meadows formally of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, February 2, 2018.  He was born May 22, 1943 in Front Royal, VA to the late James Edward, SR and Ruth Anna Mauck Carter. He was preceded in death by two sisters Shirley Revard and Beverly Denny; and two brothers, Wade Carter and Allen Carter.  Roger was retired from Giant Foods and moved to Max Meadows where he became a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Cleita Carter of Max Meadows; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory Lee, Sr. and Angela Carter of Spotsylvania County; Roger Darnell and Terra Carter of Spotsylvania County; four daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Carter and Fiancé David Bradshaw of Wytheville; Regina and David Kay of Louisa County, VA; Robin and Adrian Kelly of Florida; Lisa and Fredrick Thomas of Ruther Glen, VA; a brother, Donald Wayne Carter of Winchester, VA; 22 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 7 P.M. Monday February 5, 2018 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Davis officiating. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday 6, 2018 at the Thomas Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at the Church.  In lieu of flowers the family request for donations be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church 1705 Peppers Ferry Road, Wytheville, VA 24382.
