Roger Dale Nester, age 56, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2026. He was born January 11, 1970 in Galax, VA and was preceded in death by is biological father, Roger Ellis Nester, his mother who raised him, Lona Lawson Davis and his brother, David Nester.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ann Nester; three sons, Roger “Luke” Nester, Dakota Nester and Casey “Jake” Nester; special son, Austin Deel; two daughters, Heather Nester and Courtney Walker; Sanford “Bug” Davis, the father who raised him; mother, Sue Carpenter Evans; four sisters, Barbara “Punk” Gravley, Melissa Moore, Angel Pistory and Hope Shaffer; special sisters, Diann Goines and Patricia Goines; eight grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many extended family and close friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 7, 2026 at the Light House Church with the Reverend Mindy Chaffin officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time. Burial will follow service in Swecker-Davis Family Cemetery.
