Ron Johnson, age 79, of Barren Springs, VA passed away Friday, July 11, 2025. He was born July 29, 1945 in Muhlenberg, KY, son of the late John Johnson and Arlene Skaggs Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Russ Johnson; 3 brothers, Jesse Johnson, Jimmy Johnson and Louie Johnson; his mother-in-law, Frances Russ.

Survivors include his son, Jay and Amanda Johnson of Draper, VA; two daughters, Arlie and Luke Kincer of Rural Retreat, VA, Rondha and Brandon Kitts of Barren Springs; a sister, Brenda McKenny of Ohio; 2 brothers, Orville Johnson and Johnny Johnson, both of Wroster, OH; 4 grandchildren, Emily, Jaycob, Slade and Bella; great-grandchild, Brolee; several nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends.

There will be a gathering of friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Reese Funeral Home in Austinville, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to local retirement homes.
