Ronald Lee Shupe, age 80 of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Elkhorn, WV on April 25, 1937 the son of the late Clyde Johnson Shupe and Mildred Irene Rhyne Shupe.  Ronald was preceded in death by two brothers, C.J. Shupe and Jerry Russell Shupe.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia McCoury Shupe; sons, Ronnie Gene Shupe and wife Sandy of Rural Retreat, Billy Joe Shupe and wife Lisa of Crockett, VA; daughters,  Carol Shaver and husband Roger, Deniese Shupe all of Wytheville, VA, Norma Shupe and husband Farlen Acord of Rural Retreat; brother, Lloyd Shupe of Buchanan, VA; sisters, Linda Catron of Roanoke, VA, Joyce Waller of SC; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Collins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Speedwell United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
