Rosa Madeline Fields, age 92, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017. She was born December 4, 1924 in Wythe County, daughter of the late William Spencer and Mary Catherine Arnold Spencer. She was also preceded in death by her  first husband, Matthew Arnold and her second husband, Frazier Fields; five sisters and three brothers. Rose was a loving caretaker for many in her community. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Sue Arnold Covey and Jerry Garfield Covey of Draper, VA; sisters, Yvonne Smith and Anna Caviness of Max Meadows, VA; four grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Barnett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in West End Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
