Russell Everett Hicks ll, age 68, of Max Meadows, VA passed away May 9, 2026. He was born February 15, 1958, the son of the late Russell Everett Hicks and Margaret Belcher Hicks. He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Everett Hicks lll.

Russell was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Cateena Hicks; his son, William A. Hicks, of Max Meadows; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2026 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time.

Burial will follow in West End Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 9.
