Born in Cripple Creek, Virginia, on February 2, 1947, she was the daughter of the late James Samuel Crockett and Ethel May Littreal Crockett. After retiring at the age of 55, she spent wonderful years traveling the country with her beloved husband, John, a proud Vietnam veteran and long-haul truck driver.

Ruth Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and a remarkably generous and giving person. Ruth Ann was a fantastic cook and she loved spending time with her family. She had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh that will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew and loved her. Her family takes great comfort in knowing that she is now at peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Marshall; her daughter, Angela Jill Marshall Arnold; four brothers, Samuel Steven “Steve” Crockett, Donald Bayse “Don” Crockett, James Robert “Bud” Crockett, and William Bayne (W.B.) Marshall and Frances Davis Marshall; a brother-in-law, Richard “Dickie” Marshall; and four sisters-in-law, Peggy Marshall Hedrick, Caroline Marshall, Diane Marshall Patrick, and Judy Marshall Atwell.

Her survivors include her son, James Richard “Jamey” Marshall; her son-in-law, Danny Arnold; two grandsons, Zach Arnold and Jonathan Arnold; and three great-grandchildren, Fox Arnold, Jolene Rose, and Josie Rose.
