Samuel Sage "Sammy" Holbrook, age 75 of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at his home. He was born in Wythe Co., VA on July 19, 1947 the son of the late Kelly Holbrook and Laura Belle Sage Holbrook. He was preceded in death by his siblings, J.C. Holbrook, Joseph Van Harding Holbrook, Shelby Jean Parks and Teddy Roosevelt Holbrook.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Beverly F. Holbrook; children, Melissa Ann and Tony Ray Fowler of Wytheville, VA, Samuel Scott and Rebecca Winesett Holbrook of Bland, VA; grandchildren, Haley Betty Ann Fowler, Sharon Shewey, Tara Lynn Blea, and Fiance' A.J. Coleman, Laura Grace Holbrook, Carson Reid Holbrook; great-grandchildren, Bradley Scott Blea, Julie Rebecca Blea, Maverick Sean Coleman, Nathan Saunders, Ember Rae Olinger; siblings, Danny Wallace Holbrook of Rural Retreat, VA, Frances Laverne Frye of Wytheville, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Rutherford and Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. prior to the service.
