Shirley Evelyn Austin Pauley, age 86, of Austinville passed away on September 26, 2017. She was born in Austinville, VA on March 6, 1931 to the late Hal Hurley and Mary Alice Smythers Austin.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers, Hal H. Austin, Jr. and Porter R. Austin;  and two sisters, Yvonne J. Young and Emma G. Graham.  She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey H. Pauley of the home, Darrell Pauley and wife, Virginia Pauley of Chesapeake, VA;  one grandson, Brandon T. Pauley of Chesapeake, VA; one granddaughter, Heather Pauley of Houston, TX; and two brothers, Brown Austin of Austinville, VA and Charles Austin of Max Meadows, VA.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Reese Funeral Home at 7:00 PM.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.
