Staley R Cox Jr, 57, of Ivanhoe VA, departed this life on October 31, 2024, at Lewis Gale Hospital, Salem VA.

Born July 1, 1967 in Wytheville VA, he was the son of the late Staley Roscoe and Venita White Cox. Also known as Stacey, grew up in Ivanhoe, VA, where he attended Ft Chiswell High School and graduated in 1987. He worked at Vaughn Bassett, E.C. Dodson Furniture in Galax, VA for many years.

Stacey loved animals and had high intentions of being a farmer so he could raise animals and do gardening. Oft times you would see Stacey out walking and picking wild greens. Stacey was a caregiver to his mother until her passing. He stayed in Ivanhoe afterwards and continued his ambition of being a farmer and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents Staley R. Cox Sr and Venita Cox.

He is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Carringan of Wytheville VA, Vanessa Cox of Kentucky; five aunts, Mary Alice White, Velma White, Novella White, and Gwendolyn White, all of Ivanhoe VA, and Martha Murrell of Wytheville VA; one uncle, Alfred "Fred" White of Elk Creek VA, and two special friends Rita of Galax, VA, and Ronald Crockett of Ivanhoe VA, and a host of nieces and nephews, very close friend K.C Blair, Ann Crockett.

Funeral Services will be conducted, Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville VA, with Pastor Angel Vaughn officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville VA.
