Stella Pauline "Polly" Viars Doss, age 88, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Monday, April 3, 2017. She was born August 30, 1928 in Wythe County, the daughter of the late William Joseph and Ella Tate Viars.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Doss, daughter, Regina Wolfe and grandson, Joseph Doss.  Stella was a lifelong member of Max Meadows Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her son, Larry and Zella Doss; two daughters, Freddie and Basil Fowler, Joan Doss all of Max Meadows, VA; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; sister, Emily Jones of Max Meadows; brother, J.W. and Judy Viars of Max Meadows; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Max Meadows Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Danny Helmondollar and Reverend N.R. Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Sanders Cemetery.
