Stella Bea Pruitt Stowers, age 95, of Bastian, VA passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017. She was born October 8, 1921 in Tazewell County, the daughter of the late Lee and Agnes Wolfe Pruitt.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bernard Stowers; sons, Richard Keith "Ricky" Stowers and Ken Lester "Kenny" Stowers; grandson, Charlie Eugene "Charlie Bug" Stowers and twin great-grandsons, Mekel and Meleke Looney; brothers Vadis, Roscoe, Charlie, Henry, Jodas Lee, James Harvey; sisters Ola, Bell, Joan, Nora, Cora and Emma. Stella was the last surviving sibling of thirteen children.  She is survived by her children, Bernice and Russell Childress of Bastian, Betty and Roger Sheets of Bastian, Charles Martin and Margaret Stowers of Tazewell, VA, Darrell Lynn and Patty Stowers of Pearisburg, VA, Dreama and Ronnie Setzer of Hickory, NC, Casey and Sherri Stowers of Rocky Gap, VA; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with Mr. Paul Looney officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour before service time.  Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland, VA is serving the Stowers family.
