Stephanie Dawn Cortner Pickle, age 67 of Rural Retreat, VA  (the Groseclose Community) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly  Wednesday September 20, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Hubble Cortner, father, Edwin Dayton Cortner and a brother, Samuel (Moe) Cortner.

She is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Kenneth Pickle; daughters, Kerri Pickle Davidson and companion Rex Anders, Holly Pickle all of Groseclose, Sandy Pickle Sexton and husband Charles of Adwolfe, VA; 7 grandchildren who were her pride and joy; a brother, James D. Cortner and wife Frances of Chilhowie, VA; sister, Sue Ellen Blizzard  of Marion, VA; special sister-in-law, Sharon Cortner of Bristol, VA; beloved best friends Don & Tammy Barker of Groseclose, Shirley Brown of Saltville, VA; also numerous nieces, nephews and special friends who will miss her tremendously.

A private visitation for family was held Thursday evening at Lindsey Funeral Home.  A memorial celebration of her love and life will be held at the home for friends and family Saturday, September 23, 2017 after 2:00 P.M.
