Stephanie Renee Kennedy-Story, 44, of Wytheville, passed away at her home, February 28, 2022. She was born November 6, 1977 and was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary M. Lineberry, Edna Fifer and Carl Fifer; a sister, Kimberly Dawn Kennedy; a daughter, Kimberly Rochelle Story and a special aunt, Ann Umberger.

She is survived by her paternal grandparents, Walter and Rovie Kennedy; her parents, Walter "Buster" and Rochella "Rogie"  Kennedy; her brother, Chris Kennedy; her husband of 32 years, George "Mickey" Story; her children, Kristen (Michael) Woodson, Emily Story ( Zane Whetzel), Greggory Story (Dakota Catron); grandchildren, Brayden Woodson, Kinley Woodson and Zander Whetzel. Also surviving is a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stephanie had a contagious laugh and a smile that would light up a room. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed cooking and decorating her cabin, which she put all of her heart into remodeling and decorating. She could always be found looking for treasures at the Goodwill Store. She was the glue of her family. Stephanie adored all of her animals every day and named every one of them. She especially loved her cats, Sansa and Arya.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Alderman officiating. Interment will follow in West End Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
