Susan Dianne Lawson

Susan “Dianne” Lawson (Nanny), age 82, of Austinville, VA passed away peacefully Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Kathleen Patterson. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Judy McPeak and Peggy Cockerham and a brother, Dickie Patterson.

Survivors include her children, Mary Glisan, Susan and Dean Holston, Ron and Stacey Lawson; her grandchildren, Megan Dulaney, Sara Holston and her fiancé Tanner Keith, Matthew Glisan, Taylor Glisan, Caeley and Levi Coffey, Alyssa Lawson, Damon Lawson and Tucker Lawson; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Horton, Audrey Dulaney, Kobe Jones and Easton Coffey; her brothers, Stevie and Kay Patterson and Pat Patterson.

She found great joy in the simple things that made life beautiful; time spent with her family and moments on her beloved porch swing. Nanny rarely missed a program, game or event. She was always known to have a feisty spirit and a sense of humor that made everyone around her laugh. The love she gave her family will remain her greatest legacy.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of our beloved Nanny. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to: Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 30067.
