Theresa Yvonne Hodge Hounshell was rewarded with her heavenly crown of jewels on Sunday morning, April 6th , 2025, where family had been by her side at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital until her Heavenly Father called her home.
Theresa was born on September 18, 1961, in Pulaski County where she also grew up. She has three younger brothers celebrating her life: James Timothy Hodge of Roanoke; Johnny R. Hodge of Meadowview, and Jeffrey D. Hodge of Dublin. She always enjoyed church and singing in the choir of Pulaski High School, where she graduated in 1980. Upon graduation she met her first and only love, Andrew Wayne Hounshell, and they were married that same year; having celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary, December 19, 2024. Theresa was preceded in death by her dearly loved mother, Myrtle Ethel Martin, in 2023. Her cherished son, Christopher Wayne Hounshell, also preceded her in death, in 2008.

Theresa is lovingly remembered by her husband, Wayne, and their daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Hounshell Shelton and William Shelton. Theresa's grandchildren, Candiss Hounshell (Sam King), Colleen and William Noah Shelton; as well as Michael Mitchell, Jr, Isabella Mitchell and Jemma Riley who will greatly miss their Nana. She also leaves two great- grandsons to cherish her memory, Hunter and Gunner King. Theresa will also be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Leasa Hodge, of Roanoke, and Robin Hodge, of Meadowview. Extended family are Carla Hodge and Wendy Hodge, alongside many cousins, nieces and a nephew.

Theresa leaves behind a legacy of Sunday School Teaching, where she taught so many children over the years as well as being one of their Youth Group Leaders.

Visitation will be held at noon Thursday, April 10th 2025 at the Bland Funeral Chapel – everyone is encouraged to wear spring colors since this was her favorite season.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10th, 2025 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with the Pastor Josephine Phillips and Pastor Leroy Long officiating. Burial will be private.
