Thomas Michael “Mike” Aker, age 73, of Wytheville, VA (the Piney community) passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026. He was born January 24, 1953 in Wythe County, the son of the late Jack and Margie Dalton Aker. Mike was co-owner of Hobert N. Grubb, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie Carrico Aker; two daughters, Brook and Mike Folden, Tracy and Chad Stanley; six grandchildren, Meredith and Kris Robinson, Ethan and Sierra Reynolds, Evan and Taelor Reynolds, Zack Folden, Bella Stanley, Deven Hatmaker; three great-grandchildren, Norah Robinson, Lilah Robinson, Wyler Reynolds; special cousin, Freddie Dalton; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Mt. Zion Community Church with the Reverend Robert Blankenship, Ethan Reynolds, Randall Caviness and Tracy Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Aker family.
