Vanda Lou Bishop Fariss age 95 of Max Meadows Va passed away Friday morning February 20, 2026. She was born February 3, 1931 in Wythe Co VA, the daughter of the late Jordon & Mary Viars Bishop.

Vanda Lou was a very special & kind lady, she was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grand Mother, Sister & a friend to all who knew her, she truly loved her family, always ready to help them in any way she could. Vanda will always be remembered for the smile she always wore and the love that shown from her heart in that smile. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Hillsville Health & Rehab & their caring staff for all they did for Vanda Lou and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Oakley Fariss, a son-in-love Kyle Nester, 4 brothers, Claude "Snowball" Bishop, Clyde Bishop, Luther Bishop & Infant Berlene Bishop, 3 sisters, Hazel Alley, Lorraine Sayers & Brenda Sue "Susie" Stuart.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday February 24, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Reese Funeral Home in Austinville VA with Rev Derek Cowan & Rev Ray Bolen officiating, the family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Tuesday from 1:00 PM until service time.
