Verlie Opal Spence White of Max Meadows, VA passed away Thursday, August 03, 2017. She was born in Floyd County, daughter of the late Charles John Spence and Essie Bea Philips Spence. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her husband, Terry Allen White;  son, Larry and Betty Quesenberry of Peterstown, WV; step-son, Tim and Jody White of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Jill Quesenberry of Dublin, VA and Joy and Blake Lester of Pearisburg, VA; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; brother, Carlie and Ellen Spence of Floyd, VA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carlton and Linda White of Speedwell, VA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Rick Lindamood officiating.

Interment will follow in West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday one hour before service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
