Lynn Neese
January 16, 1953 – December 2, 2022
Victoria "Vicki" Lynn Neese, age 69, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2022 at Carrington Place in Wytheville, Virginia. Born on January 16, 1953, Vicki was the daughter of the late W.R. Neese, Jr. and the late Martha Wade Rudy Neese.
Vicki was a Wythe County resident for the majority of her life. She graduated from Fort Chiswell High School and went on to graduate from Radford College with a degree in music. She served as the youth director at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Wytheville, Virginia for many years. She absolutely loved working with the youth groups, taking them on trips, introducing them to music, and building relationships that she always cherished. While at St. Paul United Methodist Church she helped establish their preschool program in the early 1980's.
Vicki went on to become a Methodist minister with the Holston Conference. She began her pastoral ministry in Roan Mountain, Tennessee. She also served as pastor at Island Creek UMC and Providence UMC. She finished her pastoral ministry at Bethel United Methodist Church in Wytheville, VA before she retired.
Besides serving in her churches, Vicki loved to travel and to spoil her nieces and grand-nephews.
Vicki is survived by her brother and sister in law , Rudy and Connie Neese of Austinville; her beloved nieces, Kasey and David Crockett of Fort Chiswell and Katie and Derek Alexander of Max Meadows: her cherished grand-nephews ("My boys" as she called them), Tanner and Ty Crockett and Casen Alexander; a very special cousin, Susan Rudy of Max Meadows; close cousins, Becki Hart of Louisa, VA, M. Kyle Rudy and Darius de Haas of Lambertville, New Jersey, Regina and Phil Arnold of Max Meadows, Ellen Sue Hrdlicka of Ohio, and Connie Slevinski of Ohio; as well as many other cousins, relatives, and friends; and a special caretaker and friend, Rita Bailey of Wytheville, VA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 2:00pm at Bethany United Methodist Church in Austinville, VA. In lieu of flowers, Vicki had requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Bethany United Methodist Church.
