Virgil Mitchell Payne, age 68, of Stuart, VA passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022. He was born November 15, 1953 in Pulaski, VA, the son of the late Joseph and Frances DeHart Payne. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mamie Riggins and infant brother, Eugene Payne.

Survivors include his wife, Violet Perdue Payne of Pearisburg, VA; two daughters, Crystal and Joshua Kawase of Pearisburg and Brooke Dunn of Gastonia, NC; one son, Mitch Payne of Beaver, WV and step-son, Mark Beaver of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Shayna, Ceanna, Austin and Chloe; four sisters, Carolyn Viars of Max Meadows, Eva and Jim Vipperman of Patrick Springs, VA, Deborah and Mike Clifton of Stuart, VA, Diane and Roger Stegall of Stuart. Several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Millennium World Outreach Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before service time.

Burial will be held at Birchlawn Burial Park, 177 Birchlawn Circle, Pearisburg, VA after the funeral service.
