Virginia Gayle Cox, age 78, of Bland, passed away February 17, 2018.  She was born in West Virginia to the late Clarence and Marie Blankenship Chandler.  She retired from Tultex after 30 years of service.  Virginia survived by her husband of 60 years Melvin Cox of Bland; son,  Jay Cox of Vinton; brother Bobby Chandler of Mechanicsburg;three sisters, Sue Caudill of Rocky Gap; Nancy Brown of Bland; Mary Ann DeWilde of NC; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Highlands Bland Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ted Anders and Reverend Nathan Walker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
