Virginia Lee "Jenny" Lanter Thomas, 93, passed away on January 15, 2018, in the compassionate care of the staff of Ollie's Place in Wytheville.

Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Rosa Lanter; husband, Wayne Thomas; son, Gary Thomas; brother, Ford Lanter; and sister, Mary Lee Rider. She is survived by her sister, Inez James; brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Betty Lanter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. During her final years, she was lovingly cared for by special caregivers, Melissa Bechtel and Michael Allen.

A lifelong member of Jehovah's Witnesses, a memorial service will be held for Jenny Thomas at the Wytheville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 250 Grayson Road, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018. The family will receive friends during the hour before the service.
