Walter "Buster" Allen Kennedy, age 66, of Wytheville, VA passed away Friday, January 24, 2025.  He was born November 2, 1958 in Wythe County and was preceded in death by his two daughters, Stephanie Renee Story, Kimberly Dawn Kennedy and his granddaughter, Kimberly Rochelle Story.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Rochella "Rogie" Kennedy; his son, Chris (Tiffany) Kennedy; his parents, Walter and Rovie Kennedy of Wytheville, VA; eight siblings, Jerry Kennedy (Lori) of North Carolina, Linda Akers of Wytheville, Lonnie (Norma) Kennedy of Wytheville, Frances Moore of North Carolina, Sylvia Walden of Wytheville, John "Jill" Kennedy (Karen) of Wytheville, Michael Kennedy of Wytheville and Eleanor Abban of Wytheville; five grandchildren, Kristen Woodson, Emily (Zane) Whetzel, Greggory (Dakota) Story, Eden Kennedy and Lydia Kennedy; four great-grandchildren, special buddy, Brayden Woodson, Kinley Woodson, Zander Whetzel and Zayden Whetzel. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Barnett Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Helmandollar officiating. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, January 30th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home or at the residence at any time.
