Walter (Bubby) Robert Cook, of Wytheville, VA passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born October21, 1949 in Wytheville, the son of the late James T. and Ida Mae Brown Cook.

Walter was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his son, Robert Lee Brown (Annette) of Radford, VA; one brother, Harvey (Frances) Cook of Wytheville, four sisters, Lena (Charles) Penn, Mary Davis, Maggie Brown and Shirley Cook, all of Wytheville; five grandchildren, Victoria and Jestina Brown of Wytheville, Robert "R.J." Brown, Jr, Dominic Farrow and Daysha Farrow of Radford; a special friend of many years, Louise Moss and a host of nieces and nephews.

Walter worked for Wythe County Public Schools for 31 years, servicing Spiller Elementary School and Scott Memorial Middle School, where he retired and continued to work part-time.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Franklin Street United Methodist Church with Reverend Harry Grubb officiating.

Interment will follow in West End Cemetery.

Covid-19 restrictions will be strictly followed.
