Olan Wayne Viars, age 77, of Austinville, VA passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022. He was born April 26, 1945 in Wythe County, the son of the late Harry and Margie Edwards Viars.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Chambers Viars; his son, Billy Viars; daughter, Michelle Osbourn; five brothers, Eugene Viars, Alvin Viars, Junior Viars, Charles Viars and Ronnie Viars. Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietman.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Ashley Viars of Wytheville and Zachary Viars of Rural Retreat, VA; great-grandson, Nolan Viars of Bland, VA; two step-children, Peggy Sullivan of Wytheville and Mona Sullivan of Pulaski, VA; three step-grandchildren, Angie, Kimber and Jammie; step-great-grandson, Billy Joe; a sister, Pauline and Doug Snow of Barren Springs, VA and a brother, Carl Viars of Piney, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Reese Funeral Home with the Reverend Billy Dean officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour before service time.

Burial will held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9 ^th at Bethany UMC Cemetery in Poplar Camp.
