William Arthur Ball, age 68, of Rocky Gap, VA passed away at CAMC Memorial Hospital on January 27, 2017. He was born on June 27, 1948 in Bluefield, WV to Glen and Pansy Ball. He attended Rocky Gap High School. He joined the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing and camping.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edith. He is survived by his children, William Ball and wife Lisa of Cool Ridge, WV, Tracy Giberson of Charleston, WV, Rebecca Lester and husband Rick of Tazewell, VA, Janice Carpenter and fiancé Jose of Bluefield; grandchildren, Tyler Ball and fiancée Sara, Taylor Ball, Michael Martin, Haley Carr, McKenzie Baldwin, Madisen Baldwin, Isabella Hankins, Samantha Crute, C.J. Giberson, Brandon Giberson, Rebecca and Chris Nowlin, Roby and Elizabeth Hicks, Stephanie Carpenter, Jonathan Arellano and Alex Carpenter; great-grandchild, Alyssa Nowlin; brothers, Randy Ball of Davenport, IA and Larry Ball of Rocky Gap, VA; sisters, Patricia Nelson of Narrows, VA, Phyllis Umberger of Bland, VA, Sheri and David Clinkenbeard of Wylie, TX; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland, VA is serving the Ball family.
