William Harvey Mabe

William Harvey “Billy” Mabe, Jr. age 83, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Monday, September 14, 2026. He was born February 16, 1943 in Wythe County, the son of the late William H. Mabe, Sr. and Virginia Humphrey Mabe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Philip “Phil” Myers Mabe and a brother, Rodney Mabe.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Mabe of the home; daughter-in-law, Teresa Mabe of Max Meadows; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorthea and George Shannon of Williamsburg, VA, Betsy and Dan Collins of Williamsburg; tow brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony and Tiny Mabe of Max Meadows, Mike and Kay Mabe of Austinville; two grandchildren and spouses, Parker H. and Jessica Mabe, Mackenzie C. and Domonique Mabe; four great-grandchildren, Madilynn, Tucker, Hazel and Mallory. Several nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Mabe Family Cemetery with the Reverend Hugh Matlack officiating.  Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, VA is serving the Mabe family.
